家书：《我儿从军》

今儿实在高兴，兴奋与你分享我的家信。

前一阵子儿子入伍的时候，送他上德光岛去进行前7周的BMT（基本军事训练）。军部悄悄地背着儿子给我们信封，请我们务必写封鼓励信，给儿子在最后攻坚的关键时刻打开阅读，强化他的战斗力。

我们觉得这个主意很好，全力配合。我、内人、女儿都各写了一封信，然后准时寄回军营里。

儿子过后说，“哇！我们的家信是厚厚的一叠。其他二人未征得同意，我只能以自己这封公开示众。当时我连夜写，一写写到天亮。有点长气，希望你看得下去：

My Son The NS Man

Son,

This is the first letter I ever write to you as you a boy turn into a man in camp.
NS is a special time for all Singaporeans as they step into the army camp and turnout to be more a mature man.

As your dad, I will always think of you with so much love and pride, for the boy you once were and the man you are becoming.

You've worked so hard to get to this point. I'm proud of you. You once fell apart in the puzzled valley as a baby boy but grow up now to be a handsome young man.
